 "… It took much time and effort for Mr. Asai and I to find the best location to set up the Phra Pradaeng Factory. We had observed the land along the Chao Phraya River from Rama VI Bridge to Samut Prakarn, and finally selected 50 rai in Tambon Bang Khru. At that time, BOI wondered why so big piece of land was necessary. As the land was a coconut plantation, we had to build our own road from Suksawat Road to the river bank which afterwards neighbors could also use. They named it "Ajinomoto Soi". We also had to construct our own pier to unloading machinery shipped from Japan, it was later named as "Ajinomoto Pier" …"
