In the past, Prof.Kikunae Ikeda discovered "Umami", which was a new, universal value based on his aspiration to contribute to people's health by improving the nutritional state of the people. Saburosuke Suzuki II followed up on this discovery by perseveringly striving to overcome the many challenges to commercialize a new product as "Umami seasoning", and created an entirely new market.

Ambition that Prof.Kikunae Ikeda had 100 years ago, when he found “Umami,” developed into “Eat Well, Live Well,” an Ajinomoto credo that still guides us today. Our passion for delicious flavors and a healthier life for all has resulted in the creation of a wide variety of products, including seasonings, processed foods, beverages, edible oils, and frozen food, as well as various amino acid-based products, cosmetics and pharmaceutical agents, expanding from Japan to the rest of the world.

We will continue to make unique contributions to help preserve the integrity of the earth, source of life, over the next 100 years, with the slogan “Eat Well, Live Well.”
