The 6th Scholarship Presentation Ceremony “2011 Help Students Graduate”

On March 26, Ajinomoto Foundation led by Mr. Yoichiro Togashi, Vice Chairman, had joined scholarship presentation ceremony “Help Students Graduate” to the university students who hold excellent academic record while facing financial troubles. The Scholarships were given to the 1st-4th year students consecutively until they are graduated. This year, 238 applications from 75 universities nationwide were submitted. After the selection process, the qualified 60 students from 1st-3rd year students were selected, together with the existing 25 scholars from last year to be total 85 students, to receive the scholarships at the total value of Baht. 2,750,000.-
Mr. Phichien Koosmith, Vice Chairman, delivered the speech while encouraging all scholars to realize the value of the scholarship, study hard and utilize the scholarship with utmost benefit on their education purpose. After the ceremony, the 4th yr students attended lecture “Prepare yourselves to enter to working life” by HR&Admin Dept, Ajinomoto Thailand. All scholars also visited Nong Khae factory to observe production process of “Ros Dee” and “Cook Do” as well.

Ajinomoto Foundation Received the Honorable Award of Contribution from Ministry of Education for 50 Year 50 Schools Project

Ajinomoto Foundation received the “2012 Honorable Award of Contribution” from Ministry of Education for its continued supports of educational programs with The Office of Basic Education (OBEC), especially “50 Year 50 Schools” Project. The project was initiated on the occasion of 50 Years anniversary of Ajinomoto Thailand in which the company signed up the MOU with Education Minister to provide supporting fund for canteen construction at the 50 needy schools nationwide to be completed within 5 yrs starting from 2010 to 2014. Now, there are 20 schools, whose canteen constructions are already done while the project still continues as this year is the 3rd year of its operation. Additionally, the foundation also provides supporting fund to construct various school buildings including to ease difficulties of the students who experienced massive flood hit occurred in Thailand last year.
In this regards, Mr. Suchart Narksavaek, Deputy Secretary General, was the representative of the foundation to receive the honorable certificate and commemorative pin namely “Sema Kunupakarn” from Prof. Dr. Suchart Thadathamrongvech, Minister of Education on April 1, 2012 at the office of Ministry of Education. The presentation was done in commemoration of the 120 Years celebration of the establishment of Ministry of Education.

Ajinomoto helps Flood Sufferers

According to Thailand huge flood disaster in a few months ago, it has damaged properties and brought in anxiety to Thai citizens in many provinces. In this regard, Ajinomoto never ignore this situation, we demonstrated our spirit by sharing both in the form of money and company’s products through various organizations. Moreover, Ajinomoto Co., Inc. and its group of Companies in Japan had shown their concern to Thai people by donating money at 20 Million Yen or about 8 MB to assist flood sufferers in Thailand and 10 Million Yen or about 4 MB to support flood-hit employees of Ajinomoto Group of Companies in Thailand. Ajinomoto Foundation in Thailand also increased its budget of 8 MB to support the matter. In this regard, Ajinomoto Foundation led by Mr. Yoichiro Togashi, Vice Chairman, donated 5 MB to Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation, Thai Red Cross Society, honorary received by HRH Princess Soamsavali, honorary Chairman of the Foundation and also donated additionally 5 MB to The Chaipattana Foundation, received by Dr. Sumet Tantivejkul, Director&Secretary General to the Foundation on Nov 16 and 18, respectively. The money donation will further assist flood sufferers. Not only in the form of money donation we had done, Ajinomoto Foundation, together with Marketing Dept., Sales Modern Trade Dept., and Human Resources Dept. held volunteer activity in packing 8,000 sets of flood relief bags at Canteen, Si Ayutthaya School on Saturday, Nov 19 with participants of about 500 prs., composed of Aji volunteers, students and soldiers for further being distributed to sufferers through various channels including medias and factory networks. “Umami…Eat Well, Live Well” seminar

Ajinomoto Thailand conducted the seminar entitled “Umami..Eat well, Live well” to over 80 university lecturers from Home Economics, Food Science Technology and other related fields at Siam City Hotel, Bangkok. This is the 2nd time after conducted the first seminar and got very positive feedback in March 2010.The objectives of this seminar were disseminating the correct knowledge and understanding about MSG including its benefits which are not only giving Umami taste but also helping Sodium reduction in food and increasing food palatability in elderly persons and patients. We were honored by the experts from various fields consisting of Dr. Suwimon Keeratipibul; Associate Professor, Department of Food Technology, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University. The second is Assistant Professor Valaithip Sacholvijarn; Professor Emeritus (Food and Nutritionist), Mahidol University. Last is Mr. Kosin Phermpoonstaporn; Scientific Affairs Supervisor, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. All of them join the panel discussion entitled “Umami for eat well, live well” which masterd by a famous moderator; Mr. Paul Pattarapol Silpacharn. Ajinomoto Foundation gives Children’s Day’s Gifts as the 26th year

Ajinomoto Foundation welcomes the Year of Dragon 2012 with a good social contribution activity by delivering the happiness to Thai Children. This year, the Foundation supported the activities of National Children’s Day by giving the Ajinomoto products and gifts to children via both internal and external organizations. This activity has been done for 26th consecutive year.
From the shown photo, the donation ceremony was held on January 4, 2012 at H.O. Buildling. Honorably donors were Mr.Yoichiro Togashi and Mr.Phichien Koosmith, Vice Chairman of Ajinomoto Foundation with the Ajinomoto products and gifts worth 550,000 Baht to support Children’s Day activities to Thai children around 50,000 persons via the representatives from 125 organizations. For the factories, they also held the delivering ceremony and distributed products and gifts to several schools and organizations which are located nearby factories.
Besides, the Corporate Communications Department together with Wan Thai Foods Industry Co., Ltd. joined the booth to TV Channel 3 Children’s day event at Maleenont Tower. In this event, children enjoyed playing games and we were very impressed to see their smiles as shown on everyone’s faces. Ajinomoto Foundation further constructs 10 canteens for needy schools in FY 2011

One year had passed so fast for “50 Yrs 50 Schools” Project which has supported the budget for constructing 50 school canteens in Thailand within 5 years with a total budget of 25 MB. For this 2nd year of the project (FY 2011), the directors of Ajinomoto Foundation have finished selection of 10 qualified schools. Then, we had a donation ceremony at 500,000 Baht to each school on October 4, 2011, honorably received by Dr.Chinnapat Bhumiratana, Secretary General of Office of the Basic Education Commission, together with those 10 directors, totally 5 MB.

First Umami seminar of 50 Executive Chefs nationwide

Ajinomoto Co. (Thailand) Ltd. led by Mr. Masato Kohtani; Director and Thai Chef Association led by Chef Jamnong Nirangsan; Chairman jointly hosted the exclusive seminar for 50 Executive Chefs from renown hotels nationwide. We can say that it is the first time of gathering as many Executive chefs in the seminar like this. The seminar has been organized in order to educate Umami and Glutamate knowledge under the concept of “Umami! Flavoring Experience The Professional” on 29 - 30 November 2010 at Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel.We were honored by Mr. Eugene Imm; a representative of Umami Information Center (UIC), Japan to be our special guest speaker. Moreover, all chefs had a chance to visit Nhong Kae factory to see production process of “Ros Dee” product before ending this seminar. Not only the seminar and activities that impressed chefs, but also the new knowledge and friendship they have got.
All chefs backed home and will apply the Umami knowledge to create Thai Umami recipe with their own style to be gathered for production of the first Umami cookbook in Thailand for further perusal in Food and Nutrition related fields.

Clean Up Our Earth Together Day “Smile Earth Project No.5”

On January 19, 2012 more than 115 volunteers from Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., Ajinomoto Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., together with Ajinomoto Calpis Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. joined the activity of “Smile Earth Project No.5 : Cleaning up our Earth Together Day.” This year, all volunteers showed their volunteering spirit by cleaning up the canteen, the entrance, and in front of building of Ajinomoto Calpis Beverage (Thailand) Co., Ltd. which is located in Saha Rattana Nakorn Industrial Estate, Ayutthaya Province. This factory was affected from a huge flood disaster at the end of last year.
Although the weather was so hot, everyone was very active to clean the factory tirelessly. Besides, we collected many pictures from this activity to all Ajinomoto members in order to see how impressive they contributed good things to society.... |

PRODUCT INFORMATION Ajinomoto is the first manufacturer of ribonucleotides in Thailand to manufacture "AJITIDE® I+G " (a 50/50 mixture of IMP and GMP). Ribonucleotides are a mixture of inosinate and guanylate, being used as a flavor enhancer for manufacturing of food. Together with MSG, ribonucleotides are abundantly present in many foods and responsible for enhance umami taste or delicious taste of like MSG. MSG is contain with high glutamate which is found in breast milk, cheese and vegetables like tomato. The head office of the Animal Nutrition Department is located in Tokyo. Ajinomoto has five manufacturing bases for feed grade amino acid production around the world. They are in Thailand, China, France, Brazil and U.S.A. Now Ajinomoto is producing of feed grade amino acids L-Lysine, L-Threonine, L-Tryptophan and L-Valine.
In 1986, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. established a lysine producing plant in Pathum Thani province of Thailand. The plant was awarded the ISO 14001 (September 2001) and ISO 9001:2000 certification (July 2002) by SGS International Certification Services.

LysineLysine is the first limiting amino acid in feeds for pig and the second for poultry. The amount of lysine ingested on a daily basis has a direct influence on animal growth performances as this amino acid mainly serves to deposit body protein. Thus, adjusting the dietary lysine concentration according to the animal growth potential and its feed intake capacity makes it possible not only to optimize growth but also to optimize feed efficiency.
Moreover, in broiler chicken, there is a direct link between daily lysine supply and the development of certain muscles such as breasts. Therefore, adjusting lysine content enhances the value of meat cuts in case of further processing.
