Ajinomoto Thailand in collaboration with TerraCycle Thai Foundation, promotes sustainable waste management and responsible resource use through a School Waste Bank and 5Rs Workshop under the Green School Program 2026 at Thep Wittaya School. Held during the month of World Nature Conservation Day, the initiative provides students with hands-on learning while promoting proper waste segregation, resource conservation, and small everyday actions that can create lasting environmental impact.

The School Waste Bank provides a dedicated space for collecting recyclable waste and helps students learn systematic waste management, from segregation and collection to proper material recovery. More than a collection point, it serves as a “learning space for sustainability,” helping students recognize the value of resources and understand that properly segregated waste can “return to the system and create new value.”

Another highlight is the 5Rs Workshop, where students learn responsible resource use through “From Old Shirts to New Tote Bags,” transforming unused clothing into reusable bags. The activity helps reduce waste, extend the life of materials, and reduce plastic bag use, while showing that sustainable actions can begin with simple choices in everyday life and create positive change at school, at home, and in the community.

Ajinomoto believes that “sustainability starts with the small things around us.” Through hands-on learning, the program aims to nurture environmental awareness, responsibility, and active participation among young people. This reflects the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) philosophy of creating shared value across business, society, and the environment, while empowering youth to become agents of positive change and contribute to a more sustainable society for future generations.
