From Global Goals to Action: Ajinomoto Inspires the Next Generation with SDGs and ASV to Shape a Sustainable Business Future
Ajinomoto Thailand continues to promote sustainability knowledge among the next generation through collaboration with academic institutions. In partnership with the General Education Management Center of Bangkok University, Ajinomoto organized a special lecture titled “SDGs within Ajinomoto’s Corporate Strategy” for Bangkok University students. The session aimed to share insights into how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) can be integrated into corporate strategies while highlighting real-world business practices that balance organizational growth with social and environmental responsibility.
The session provided students with an opportunity to gain sustainability perspectives from a global business organization. Mr. Smith Phetdi, Sustainability Promotion Department Manager, served as a guest speaker, sharing Ajinomoto’s sustainability strategies and approaches. Through practical examples and industry experiences, the session helped students understand the role of businesses in advancing sustainable development and transforming SDGs from global goals into meaningful actions.

During the lecture, Ajinomoto highlighted that “Sustainability is not only about addressing environmental and social challenges, but also about creating shared value by connecting business growth with improved well-being for people and the protection of the planet.” This reflects The Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV), the core philosophy that guides Ajinomoto Group’s global business operations. Through ASV, Ajinomoto leverages its expertise in food, AminoScience, and technology to improve people’s well-being, address social issues, create sustainable economic value, and reduce environmental impacts.
The lecture also introduced students to practical examples of how SDGs can be applied within business operations, including promoting health and nutrition through food innovation, enhancing resource efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, advancing circular economy approaches in packaging management, and collaborating with partners across the value chain to build a more sustainable food system.

In addition, the activity encouraged students to exchange ideas through interactive discussions and case studies, enabling them to strengthen their critical thinking skills and better understand their potential role as the next generation of change-makers who can contribute to positive impacts on society and the environment.
Ajinomoto believes that building a sustainable future begins with empowering the next generation through knowledge, understanding, and inspiration. Collaboration with educational institutions is therefore an important part of Ajinomoto’s commitment to sharing sustainability knowledge and nurturing future leaders who can help drive meaningful change toward a better world while growing sustainably together.
