On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., reaffirmed its dedication to advancing business best practices for biodiversity. Mr. Smith Phetdi, Sustainability Promotion Manager, represented the company as a keynote speaker under the topic “Business for Biodiversity: Building a Sustainable Business Network” and participated in the press conference and MOU signing ceremony hosted by the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), in collaboration with the Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) and the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO), at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok.



This event aimed to build awareness and understanding of biodiversity among the Thai business sector and to emphasize the vital role of private organizations in driving biodiversity conservation by integrating biodiversity principles into practical business operations. It also highlighted the importance of enhancing capacity in sustainable biological resource management, promoting responsible resource use, and reducing ecological impact through collaborative national networks—laying the foundation for a resilient and sustainable future.   

Mr. Smith Phetdi stated, “Biodiversity is the foundation that nourishes a secure, efficient, and resilient food system, sustained by the interconnectedness of living organisms within the food chain. In a rapidly changing natural world and a landscape of complex economic challenges, we recognize that sustainability is not merely a goal—it is the heart of long-term business success. Driving biodiversity-focused business requires a strong, structured, and goal-oriented network of collaboration to protect, restore, and utilize biodiversity wisely leading to sustainability across economic, social, and environmental dimensions.”
