Ajinomoto Thailand [Head Office] has continuously implemented environmental management and waste management practices following the 3Rs principles under the Green Office Project. Activities promoting sustainability, knowledge sharing, and campaigns encouraging employees to separate waste from the source have been conducted consistently. As part of these efforts, used plastics from daily life, including plastic bottles, stretch plastic, and used plastic packaging, totaling over 200 kilograms, have been collected and donated to the Department of Environment, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). These plastics will be recycled under the Bangkok Magic Hands Project. Plastic bottles will be transformed into recycled fibers, woven into fabric, and sewn into “Reusable Reflective PPE” to enhance the safety of cleaning personnel, street sweepers, and waste collectors. This initiative aims to improve their quality of life by providing safe work attire to prevent unforeseen accidents and incidents resulting from waste and traffic.

The Bangkok Magic Hands Project has established a collaboration with the Less Plastic Thailand network, the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), the PPP Plastics group, the Won Project, the Packaging and Recycling Management Institute for Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE), and YouTurn by GC to promote waste management through everyone's magic hands. Various types of plastic waste will be processed through recycling to create benefits following the principles of the circular economy, fostering sustainable development by maximizing resource utilization. Additionally, this initiative aims to reduce the amount of waste disposed of into the ocean or landfills, contributing to environmental restoration and marine resource conservation, thereby creating sustainable well-being and happiness in Thai society.
