Ajinomoto shares its inspiration by creating eco-friendly menus that everyone can easily cook at home

using familiar ingredients with the "Too Good To Waste" campaign

Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. is passing on inspiration through its 4th restaurant, “Penlaos (Rama 2)”, by sparking inspiration in using nearby ingredients to create an earth-saving menu that you can easily make at home with the concept of “The leftover part usage menu” and "The new menu makeover".

The first menu is “Crispy fried shrimp chin with herbs”. Many people may be familiar with using shrimp in cooking. The parts that are often left out but can be edible are the shrimp head and chin, which are rich in protein. “Penlaos (Rama 2)” then utilized the concept of “The leftover part usage menu” by coating these two parts in flour, putting them into prepared spaghetti, and then deep-frying them in oil until crispy to be edible with rind and served with sweet dipping sauce.

The second menu, Nam Prik Luang (Chili dip), is made by pounding the remaining fish sauce from Luang Prabang papaya salad together with chili, garlic, herbs and seasonings. This allows the leftover fish sauce to be re-eaten as "The new menu makeover" by presenting you with a new delicious spicy chili paste menu, served with side dishes and crispy vegetables.

The concept of grabbing ingredients close at hand to cook at home is not only clean, saves money, and helps us make the best choices for ourselves, but it also teaches us to be adaptable, and creative, and make the most of what we have in our fridge and pantry. With just a few tools, we can easily cook our meals and also reduce food waste, which is another cause of global warming.

Ajinomoto would like to introduce the "Too Good To Waste" campaign. It is perfect
for both green-hearted conservationists and foodies alike since the menus we offer are both delicious and environmentally friendly, presented by top-notch restaurants that prepare everything with an emphasis on the concept of using ingredients efficiently and not leaving waste.

Besides “Penlaos (Rama 2)”, there are also 2 menus from each restaurant for you to try, such as Oakland Café x Restaurant, Ivory Coast Almond Restaurant & Chill Bar, and Jirakaan. Furthermore, if anyone is interested in making eco-friendly menus at home, Ajinomoto has developed a variety of menus to help reduce food waste together. Just type in the search for “Too Good To Waste” menu on this website. Everyone can start doing it right away.

The campaign activities will be updated via the Ajinomoto website and Facebook fan page: “Ajinomoto กรีนได้ กินดี”, and “Starvingtime" from now until the end of February 2025.
