31/07/2024

Recently, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., led by Mr. Ichiro Sakakura (President), and Mr. Kenji Harada (Vice President and Chairman), together with Mr. Sornchai Kusonjai (Director and Project Leader), in collaboration with the Care Earth Organization Team (The Synergy for Sustainability Task Force Team), attended the CEO 2023 “Presentation and Closing Ceremony”. At the event, they listened to initiatives on sustainability and environmental projects including waste separation incentives model proposed by CEO Members.

For the CEO Project 2023, activities have been carried out continuously for the second year. This year, the focus is on the problem of plastic waste management, which is a global environmental issue that all sectors need to urgently address. This includes motivating waste and plastic packaging separation both within the organization, neighboring communities and consumers which reinforces the intention to reduce environmental impacts at every stage of business operations, along with driving the goal of zero plastic waste by 2030. This is to create a resource recycling society in line with the concept of a circular economy, developing and building on sustainability by maximizing the use of resources. Applications are open for volunteers interested in joining the mission to save the world from October 2023.

Over the past six months, our CEO Members have participated in knowledge exchange activities. These activities have focused on the basics of sustainability and environmental issues, including types of plastic packaging. They have also improved their skills with national-level experts to prepare for presentations and design thinking processes. Furthermore, they have participated in waste management and recycling workshops at Ladprao Canal to unlock their eco-active potential. Above-mentioned, we would like to thank all our CEOs for their physical and mental dedication for making this excellent synergy to change the world, sharing creative ideas with new perspectives, and never giving up on any problems or obstacles that come their way.

Every idea and initiative contribute to reducing the global plastic waste problem. The concept of creating environmental awareness can not only motivate proper waste sorting for more effective management but also help reduce the amount of plastic waste that could contaminate water sources, the sea, or end up in landfills. This approach also encourages community participation in waste sorting at the source, leading to sustainable development in all dimensions and creating sustainable well-being and happiness in Thai society.
