31/07/2024

The Ajinomoto Group has been assessed and received an A rating (Leadership Level), the highest level, for its management of climate change under the assessment framework of the globally reputable Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the year 2023. This places it among approximately 350 companies out of 21,000 worldwide that have been selected for the Climate Change A list.

Companies that receive an A rating from the CDP are global leaders that have demonstrated excellent performance in sustainability and have strategies that respond to climate change. This is assessed based on the company’s initiative and disclosure of information on sustainability and environment, climate change, water security, and forests.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is a non-profit organization that manages climate change with a standard for disclosing carbon and climate change information that is significant to the world. It also provides the world’s largest online source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data from organizations, and many investors rely on CDP data for investment decisions. The CDP evaluates results into eight levels, ranging from A to D- (A, A-, B, B-, C, C-, D, D-).

In addition, the Ajinomoto Group has also received a Gold rating in the sustainability survey by EcoVadis for the year 2023. With this top score and percentile ranking, Ajinomoto is among the top 5% of companies in the industry that have been evaluated for their sustainable business context, under the comprehensive ESG management system assessment methodology, achieving the highest scores and percentile rankings to date.

EcoVadis is an international organization that ranks business sustainability and is one of the most trusted in the world. It evaluates the sustainability activities of organizations comprehensively, including four dimensions (ESG): Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement, working to help companies improve practices through global supply chains.

These assessments are a proud achievement for Ajinomoto, reflecting the dedication, effort, and cooperation in the work of sustainability of the Global Ajinomoto Group, including Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. and Ajinomoto Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. We jointly create and present initiatives in technology, research and development, process improvement, and environmental awareness, which are part of promoting sustainability and pushing Ajinomoto to achieve its goal of reducing environmental impact by 50% by 2030, moving towards carbon neutrality, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
