Recently, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. reaffirmed its role as a sustainability leader by driving a low carbon supply chain and promoting responsible production and consumption. Dr. Thongdee Paso, Managing Director, represented the company as a keynote speaker at the CSCAP Sustainable Trade Finance, Procurement and Innovation for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) collaboration forum held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok.

The event aimed to establish a Regional Collaboration Platform under the AFMA framework, a partnership formed by UNESCAP and the FAO. The forum was co-hosted in Thailand by Sustainism (stnsm.org) and the Department of Climate Change and Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The goal is to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy through sustainable procurement and innovation, while enhancing access to green finance to better connect the trade, finance, and innovation sectors. These efforts support the advancement of Sustainable Consumption and Production in line with SDG 12 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Ajinomoto’s participation in the CSCAP forum marks another important step in strengthening national and regional cooperation to advance supply chains toward a low-carbon future. Throughout the discussions, participants exchanged approaches to enhancing environmental, social, and governance practices through new frameworks, including Climate and Sustainability Guidelines, Regenerative Agriculture, Climate Justice, and sustainable investment and finance from financial institutions. These insights aim to support Thailand’s progress toward a low-carbon economy through broad collaboration.

The Ajinomoto Group remains committed to operating its business with strong environmental responsibility. The company continues to reduce its environmental impact by building a sustainable ecosystem across every stage of its operations. This long-term commitment supports its 2030 sustainability goals and aligns with the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) principles, which focus on delivering shared value for society in a sustainable and meaningful way.
