Ajinomoto Unlocks Sustainable Growth Opportunities through Green Innovation and Technology at Thailand Research Expo 2026
Ajinomoto Thailand participated as a keynote speaker at the seminar "Research Synergy: Turning Challenges into Opportunities for a Sustainable Future of Thai Businesses," held as part of Thailand Research Expo 2026, organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) in collaboration with the country's research and innovation networks. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange and cross-sector collaboration to accelerate Thailand's sustainable development.
During the panel discussion on "Driving Sustainability Transformation through Green Innovation and Technology," Mr. Smith Phetdi, Sustainability Promotion Department Manager, shared the company's sustainability journey under the Ajinomoto Creating Shared Value (ASV) philosophy. ASV is the Group's core business approach that creates shared value for business, society, and the environment, based on the belief that business growth must go hand in hand with improving people's well-being and reducing environmental impacts.

Ajinomoto highlighted its sustainability transformation through continuous investments in Green Innovation and Green Technology, supporting the Ajinomoto Group's environmental commitments. These include improving energy efficiency, adopting Biomass Boiler Technology, expanding the use of renewable energy, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the entire value chain through the Group's Net Zero Pathways, covering sustainable sourcing, manufacturing, and post-consumer packaging management.

As part of its sustainability journey, Ajinomoto also presented "Waste to Worth for Well-Being," the company's sustainable packaging waste management initiative, which demonstrates how innovation can create positive environmental and social impacts. Guided by the principles of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the Circular Economy, the initiative establishes a packaging take-back system through collaboration with government agencies, private-sector partners, researchers, local communities, and consumers. Collected packaging is transformed into alternative fuel, industrial raw materials, and upcycled products, contributing to environmental protection while encouraging active public participation in building a more sustainable society.
Ajinomoto believes that achieving sustainability requires more than the efforts of a single organization. It calls for the integration of research, innovation, technology, and collaboration across all sectors to transform environmental challenges into opportunities for creating shared value. Through this collective effort, the company remains committed to contributing to a more sustainable future for Thailand and future generations.
