During the event, the company showcased its flagship campaign, “Waste to Worth for Well-Being”, which promotes the collection and recovery of used product packaging. The initiative aims to advance circular economy practices, reduce plastic waste, and connect people, communities, and society to drive meaningful environmental change.

Ajinomoto at the “Bangkok Green City” Talk Session
At Green Hug, Mr. Smith Phetdi, Manager of the Sustainability Promotion Department, served as a key speaker in the “Bangkok Green City” panel discussion, joining representatives from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and environmental partners. He emphasized that environmental care does not need to begin with big actions, as small habits practiced consistently can make a meaningful difference, such as properly sorting small pieces of waste to prevent them from leaking into the environment.

“Lasting change can start from small daily actions. Even one properly returned multilayer sachet can help keep the city clean and turn waste into new value. “Waste to Worth for Well-Being” – Ajinomoto’s EPR Commitment
Ajinomoto Thailand introduced the “Waste to Worth for Well-Being” program under the principles of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) the company’s commitment to responsible packaging management. The initiative ensures that post-consumer packaging, especially “Multi-Layer Packaging (MLP),” does not end up mixed with general waste.
The company currently operates multiple recovery channels, including:
Over 25 MLP drop-off points nationwide
MLP Return-for-Value Program
Packaging collection activities in collaboration with local communities and recycling markets
Returned materials are properly processed and diverted into value-driven pathways. Some are upcycled into new products, such as recycled-plastic storage shelves and recycled school desks and chairs, which are delivered to schools. Others are recovered for aluminium, oil extraction, agricultural use, or converted into alternative fuel.
All efforts are aligned with the Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) approach, which emphasizes delivering shared value to people, society, and the environment.

Ajinomoto’s booth received an enthusiastic response from eco-conscious visitors. Attendees brought multilayer sachets and plastic bottle caps to return, and participated in the Eco- Keychain Workshop, transforming recycled materials into one-of-a-kind handcrafted keychains. Participants also received Ajinomoto products as tokens of appreciation.
