"Building a Green Future! Ajinomoto Drives Collaboration on Sustainable Packaging in Thailand, Advancing a Circular Economy for a Greener Future."

Recently, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., led by Mr. Smith Phetdi, Sustainability Promotion Department Manager, participated in the Think Circle roundtable discussion on "Collaborating for Sustainable Packaging in Thailand." The event was organized by Huhtamaki Thailand, featured knowledge-sharing sessions with H.E. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, Ambassador of Finland to Thailand, along with representatives from the Thailand Institute of Packaging and Recycling Management for a Sustainable Environment (TIPMSE), the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), academic experts, and business partners. The discussion aimed to gather key insights to advance Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Thailand’s Sustainable Packaging Management Act.

The event served as a platform for fostering collaboration and sharing in-depth expertise in packaging management with professionals from various sectors. It also encouraged discussions on cutting-edge innovations related to the circular economy and green transition and explored environmental policies based on EPR principles. Key topics included packaging production, design, and usage strategies to prepare for the implementation of the Sustainable Packaging Management Act. These efforts align with business development goals that promote greenhouse gas reduction and the Net Zero target by 2050.

Mr. Smith Phetdi stated,
"Sustainability is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to drive lasting change. Every action matters. Businesses must innovate, policymakers must set clear frameworks, and consumers must make informed decisions. When we collaborate, we can turn packaging waste into valuable resources, reduce environmental impact, and create a truly circular economy."
