Gun Atthaphan enjoys cooking a healthy low-sodium menu with fans at Ajinomoto Home Cooking

28/09/2022

Ajinomoto recently invited "Gun-Atthaphan Phunsawat", a famous teenage actor, to experience a healthy menu creation of ‘spicy shrimp paste with strawberry’ under the concept "delicious salt reduction with umami" at "Ajinomoto Home Cooking" together with a group of fan club that joined the real-time activity via Zoom online. "Chef Rean-Issala Tanadumrongsak", a contestant from MasterChef Thailand Season 4, also joined the cooking session to pass on easy nutrition knowledge, cooking techniques, and how to apply the art and science of umami through a small appropriate use of MSG to significantly reduce sodium contained in the recipe while its taste is still delicious. The activity took place at Ajinomoto Cooking Space, Si Ayutthaya building, Bangkok.

The concept of this activity begins with Ajinomoto’s intention, which aims to promote health and wellness among Thai people through eating well and living well without compromises of deliciousness, especially reducing sodium consumption by using umami gained from MSG to reduce sodium amount in dishes, as it contains only 1/3 the sodium contained in salt. Therefore, Ajinomoto designed the class to allow everyone to have fun and practice how to cook a healthy, delicious and nutritionally balanced meal, especially the sodium consumption at an appropriate level that is not over the daily recommendation. This is in response to the Ajinomoto’s objective to become "a solution-providing group of companies for food and health issues through unlocking the power of amino acids to support the healthy lives of people all around the world." We are striving to deliver our inspiration of “nutrition without compromise” as a part of The Ajinomoto Group Creating Shared Value (ASV) policy, to which we have adhered as always.
