Ajinomoto supports Thai Cassava farmers through the MOU of cooperation in Plant Protection Promotion and Soil-Fertilizer Management

         Recently, Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd. and Department of Agricultural Extension led by Mr.Varong Prayoonpong, Managing Director of Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., Mr.Kazuyuki Nakamura, President of FD Green (Thailand) Co., Ltd. under The Ajinomoto Group of Companies in Thailand, and Mr.Kemkaeng Yutidhammadamrong, Director-General Department of Agricultural Extension, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of "Cooperation in Plant Protection Promotion and Soil-Fertilizer Management" to agree and commit to cooperate and support Thai cassava farmers in solving the cassava mosaic disease (CMD) problem, as well as to promote and develop work on soil management from by-products to be used to make organic fertilizers.

         This MOU aims to jointly develop and promote the management of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) control by distributing free cassava stem and disease-resistant to farmers together with developing field survey technologies by using "drone" to detect pests and plant nutrient deficiencies, which will help farmers to handle the problem of the cassava mosaic disease (CMD) effectively and be able to earn more income in order to make Thai farmers to be happy and have a better life. In addition, all the information and results obtained from this project's implementation will be used to expand the future partnership cooperation afterwards.
