Ajinomoto promotes its Ajinomoto ecosystem in Thailand to support Thai farmers and sustainable production systems at the Asia-Pacific Symposium

          Mr. Ichiro Sakakura, President of Ajinomoto Co., (Thailand) Ltd., was invited as a world food leading company and private sector contributing to sustainable agriculture and food systems in Thailand, to join a panel discussion in the big event "Asia-Pacific Symposium on AGRIFOOD Systems Transformation", organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok Hotel as a hybrid event. This symposium was a meeting of ministers and senior officials at the regional level with key objectives to follow up on the results of the UN Food Systems Summit and Nutrition for Growth Summit held in 2021. At this symposium, there was a discussion of senior leaders, including a panel discussion from leading private sectors on the crisis issues in five areas (5Fs): Food, Feed, Fuel, Fertilizer, and Finance.
 




 

              Mr. Ichiro Sakakura, one of five outstanding private sector panelists, introduced the AGRIFOOD Systems Transformation by the Ajinomoto Group on sustainable agriculture and food systems driving through the Ajinomoto ecosystem in Thailand that has been related to research and innovative technology development, value-added to agricultural products. He demonstrates that "Ajinomoto business originated from the inspiration of contributing to the health and wellness of people worldwide via the wide-ranging application of amino acid technology, which is the key expertise of our company, while promoting the development of agriculture along with sustainable food production. Today, the group is the biggest global supplier of amino acids, covering a wide range of quality products that promote the healthy living of people worldwide”.
 

            Ajinomoto started business in Thailand in 1960 and has been contributing as a key driving force in the Thai economy since then while creating value-added to the Thai agricultural sector through the project entitled "Thai Farmers, Better Life Partner", which aims to help improve the quality of life of Thai farmers by providing sufficient knowledge, especially cassava related, innovative technology, and onsite collaboration activities since we are one of the biggest users of tapioca starch. The company has been investing in consumers' demand research and technology development to deliver value through products and services along with the responsibility to the society, the local community, and the sustainable environment in accordance with our core business’s essence of The Ajinomoto Group's Creating Shared Value (ASV) policy, to which we have adhered as always.
