Stay Yummy, Stay YOUNG

“Anti-aging medicine” was originated in Europe and the United States. It is a preventive medicine, which aims to maintain a healthy body to prevent non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes, stroke, heart disease, emphysema, cancer, high blood pressure, and obesity. These diseases are partly caused by excess free radicals in the body.

The human body naturally produces free radicals and antioxidants. The latter maintains the free radical’s balance. However, external factors such as smoking, stress, long-term exposure to radiation or heavy metals, and pollution, including unhealthy food habits may cause the body to produce excess free radicals and trigger an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants, called ‘oxidative stress’. This imbalance destroys the body's good cells and causes some diseases.

Experts suggest that a body should be balanced by control inflammation level, vitamin deficiency, good fatty acid balance, free radical level, hormones, and a balance of good bacteria in the body. To prevent diseases, it is recommended to eat all 5 food groups and avoid eating too sweet and salty food. A healthy diet includes the following:

  • Fish and seafood contain omega-3, which is good fatty acid and natural anti-inflammatory drug.
  • Nuts and whole grains contain unsaturated fats from plant sources. They help promote younger-looking skin.
  • Probiotics contain good microorganisms that stimulate the function of immune system.
  • Colorful vegetables have high fiber content, which helps the body to fight free radicals and reduce constipation.
  • Various fruits and berries are rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. They can slow down cell degeneration.
  • High-protein and low-fat meats such as fish and chicken improve muscle building.

In addition, you should get 150 minutes per week of aerobic activity, which is good for the heart, lungs, and immune system. Sleep for 7 hours a day, preferably no later than 11 p.m. because 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. is when the body produces growth hormone, which can restore damaged cells and organs, maintain muscle, and support the bone mass. High amount of growth hormone makes you strong and look younger, and a lack of it can lead to rapid aging.

No matter which festival or any time of the year, all members of “Mae Ban Tee Rak” must wish for a healthy, lively, and youthful life. So, this edition offers anti-aging menus – Stay Yummy, Stay YOUNG, both internally and externally. Let's try them out.
